Daniel Boetker-Smith

Daniel Boetker-Smith is a photographic artist and academic based in Melbourne Australia. Daniel was a juror for the Kassel Photobook Award in Germany in 2013. Daniel’s photographic work has been shortlisted for the Substation Art Prize (2013), the Bowness Photo Prize at Monash Gallery of Art (2012), the Centre for Contemporary Photography’s Documentary Award (2011), and the Josephine Ulrick Photo Prize (2009 & 2010).

Daniel 2013 is the Co-ordinator of the Bachelor of Photography Programme at Photography Studies College Melbourne.

Daniel is the founder and Director of the Asia-Pacific Photobook Archive, and has co-ordinated photobook events, lectures and workshops at the Obscura Festival (Malaysia), Tokyo Art Book Fair (Japan), Angkor Photo Festival (Malaysia),  Rayko Photo Center, San Francisco (USA), National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne), and at the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney).

Daniel is also a founder of Photobook Melbourne 2015, Australia's first photo book festival.
